Ryan Sallans, activist and author, transitioned from female to male in 2005 and has recounted his life experiences in his newly released memoir, Second Son: Transitioning Toward My Destiny, Love and Life.

Since he began he has been committed to education surrounding medical, legal and social issues related to the transgender community. This blog serves as a guide and resource for individuals seeking guidance in the transgender community or for friends, family, lovers and partners who are eager to learn more about how a transition may impact the individual's life and those around them.

I often conduct trans-inclusion trainings for professional on college campuses and was delighted to see this article today during my regular search for national news affecting the transgender community. 

The University of Missouri-Columbia, Trans Action Team has recently taken a step up and created a website for the transgender community, “in order to provide students with resources and education for transgender issues.” The leader in the creation of this site, Garrett Hoffman was inspired by a site created at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte! 

I think this is amazing and hope to see if more colleges following their lead!
