Yes, however it depends on your driver’s license marker and your partner’s gender. In the state of Nebraska in order to receive a marriage license, you and your partner will have to present your driver’s license (that is all that is required). If the marker on your driver’s license is “M” and your partners is “F” then you can receive a marriage license.
Fortunately, in December of 2010, the State of Nebraska DMV changed their policy regarding how to change one’s marker on their DL. Back when I did it, you had to present a notarized letter from your surgeon and have that approved by the DMV Supervisor. NOW, you only need your MD to sign off on a letter that has very broad language referencing you completing steps in a transition. (So if you are on hormones, that is enough to get the signature on the form that you will then take into the DMV).
